Two men rushed to hospital with serious injuries after "disturbance" in Ayrshire village

Two men have been rushed to hospital following an early morning "disturbance" at a house in Ayrshire.

Police say the men, aged 33 and 38, suffered "serious" injuries in the incident at a house in Davidson Avenue in the village of Glengarnock.

A woman, aged 47, was also taken to Crosshouse Hospital, Kilmarnock.

The woman has since been arrested by police.

Local people say there has been a police presence at the house since the incident happened at around 2.45 am on Saturday morning.

Police say that the incident was contained within the house and that there was no risk to members of the public.

One local resident said:"The word going round was that there had been a murder.

"There's been such a strong police presence.

"It's shocking that an incident like this can happen here."

Police raced to the scene in the early hours of Saturday.

A Police Scotland s pokesman said:“Officers were made aware of a disturbance within a property at Davidson Avenue in Glengarnock around 2.45am on Saturday, 22 February.

"Two men - aged 33 and 38 - were taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

"A 47-year-old woman was also taken to hospital and has since been arrested.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. The incident was contained to within the property and there was no risk to the wider public.”
