Two men rushed to hospital with faces 'covered in blood' after vicious gang attack outside swanky Dublin hotel

Two men were rushed to hospital with faces "covered in blood" after a vicious gang attacked them with traffic cones outside of a Dublin hotel.

The shocking scenes unfolded outside the swanky Radisson Blu Royal on Golden Lane in the city centre on Friday evening.

Footage obtained by Dublin Live shows as many as seven people gathered around.

One person appears to be stomping on the men as they lay on the ground.

Another one of the attackers swings a large yellow traffic cone, which hits one of the men in the head as he tried to protect himself.

An eyewitness who was working in the area said the two men looked battered afterwards.

“I was working doing deliveries when I came out of the restaurant after picking up the food,” he said.

“I saw this huge crowd of young lads attacking two men.

“They were in their 40s, they were attacked with all those yellow cones, cutting their faces and heads.

“I went to the guys, asked them If they were okay, their faces were cover in blood.”

Gardai confirmed no arrests had been made yet.

"Gardai are investigating an assault on two men that occurred at approximately 9:30pm on Friday, 4 th June, 2021, in the Golden Lane area of Dublin 2," they said.

"The men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

"No arrests have been made to date. Investigations are ongoing."
