Two men rushed to hospital after being found injured near Coatbridge police station

Two men have been rushed to hospital after an incident near Coatbridge police station.

One man was found with injuries to his chest on Whittington Street shortly before 7am this morning.

A second man was discovered with injuries to his back within a house on the street.

Police have launched an investigation as officers remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live: "Police were called after a man was found with injuries to his chest in the Whittington Street area of Coatbridge at around 6.55am on Saturday, 25 January.

"He has been taken for hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.

"A second man was found with injuries to his back within a property on Whittington Street and has also been taken to hospital for treatment.

"Enquiries into the full circumstances of the incident are ongoing and officers remain at the scene."
