Two men plead not guilty to the murder of a teenager stabbed in Cathays

Two men have pleaded not guilty to the murder of a teenager stabbed in Cardiff.

Abdulghalil Aldobhani, 22, of Cathays Terrace, Shafique Shaddad, 24, of Louisa Place, and Mustafa Aldobhani, 21, of no fixed abode, appeared at Newport Crown Court on Monday charged jointly with the murder of Fahad Mohamed Nur.

The 18-year-old died after being stabbed near Cathays railway station shortly after midnight on Sunday, June 2.

Abdulghalil Aldobhani and Shaddad pleaded not guilty while Mustafa Aldobhani didn’t enter a plea.

All three were remanded in police custody.

Aseel Arar, of Selly Oak, Birmingham, also appeared in court charged with assisting an offender by procuring accommodation and flight tickets out of the UK to impede a prosecution.

Arar, 34, pleaded not guilty and was released on police bail.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “We thank the community for the support and information that has already been given during the investigation.

“Detective are still appealing for witnesses.
