Two men on Celtic player hate crime rap in connection with video

Two men have been arrested in connection with an alleged hate crime towards a Celtic player.

Police received reports of a video circulating on social media on Monday, August 23.

It comes after a clip taken inside a Rangers supporters bus last week appeared to show racial slurs being directed at Parkhead player Kyogo Furuhashi.

Two men aged 30 and 26 were arrested and charged have now been released on an undertaking.

They are due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court and a full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are continuing to identify others involved and anyone with information is asked to get in touch with Police Scotland via 101, or by making a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
