Two men killed and woman injured after car hits pedestrians crossing road

Two men have died in a horror crash in Wigan after being hit by a car as they crossed the road.

The victims, believed to be in their 70s and 80s, died a short time after the crash, which happened at 8.15pm on Friday.

A woman in her 70s, also a pedestrian, was injured in the tragedy.

The driver of a Ford Kuga stopped at the scene, but has not been arrested.

The woman remains in hospital in a serious condition but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

An investigation has been launched by the Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
