Two men injured in ’large scale disturbance’ in Pollok

Two people were hurt during a large disturbance in Pollok thought to involve around a dozen people.

As reported on Glasgow Live, a large police presence was spotted at the scene last night with part of Drumcross Road taped off.

Rumours of a ‘gang fight’ were shared on a local Facebook page, Crookston and Pollok Community with officers called to the scene around 6.40pm on Wednesday (August 14) to deal with the incident, thought to involve around 12 people.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed today that two men were injured and two men were arrested then released, pending further enquiries.

The spokesperson said: “We were called to an area of Pollok at around 6.40pm last night over reports of an alleged disturbance.

"One man suffered a head injury while another received an injury to his abdomen.

"Two men, aged 29 and 30, were arrested and released pending further enquiry.

"Enquiries are continuing."
