Two men injured after reports of 'shooting' in Tollcross as police swarm Glasgow street

Two men have been injured after reports of a 'shooting' in Glasgow.

Police swarmed Tollcross Road this morning at around 7.40am after the chaos broke out.

Both men were rushed by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

One local said they heard 'two loud bangs' and then police swarmed the scene.

Another reported a 'van was shot at' while parked near a shop.

Tollcross Road is currently shut in both directions between Amulree Street and Killin Street as officers remain on the scene.

Police Scotland confirmed: “Around 7.40 am on Tuesday, 12 January, 2021, police attended a report of two men injured outside the ‘One Stop Shop’ in Tollcross Road, Glasgow.

“Both men have been taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“Tollcross Road is currently closed and traffic diversions are in place.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call today at 0737 hours to attend an incident on Tollcross Road.

"We dispatched two ambulances, our special operations team and our trauma team to the scene.

"We transported two patients to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
