Two men hospitalised after 'disturbance involving youths' in Cherry Orchard, west Dublin

Two men in their mid-20s have been hospitalised following a disturbance in a west Dublin housing estate this afternoon.

The incident involved a number of youths on Clifden Drive, Cherry Orchard.

Gardai and members of the Armed Support Unit raced to the scene shortly after 1pm.

The two men were taken to hospital where their injuries are said not to be life-threatening.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live that investigations into the incident are ongoing.

He said: "Shortly after 1pm, Garda units were called to the scene of a public order incident at Clifden Drive, Cherry Orchard following reports of a disturbance involving a number of youths.

"Two men both in their mid-20s have been removed from the scene for medical attention.

"Their injuries are not life threatening. A number of local Garda units and ASU are at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing."
