Two men in their 40s in hospital with serious injuries after crash

Two men have been left in hospital with serious injuries after a car crash in Bolton

Police were called around 8.20pm on Wednesday, March 10, to Chorley Road after reports of a smash.

Emergency services, including firefighters and paramedics, rushed to the scene and found that a silver Vauxhall Zafira had been travelling along Chorley Road in the direction of Adlington.

The car left the carriageway, colliding into wooden fencing and a tree close to The Cherry Tree restaurant.

Two men, aged 45 and 49, had to be cut from the car by firefighters, according to North West Ambulance Service.

They were taken to hospital with serious injuries where they currently remain for treatment.

No other injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for information that may help them piece the incident together.

Police Constable John Harrison-Gough, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a nasty incident that has left two men in hospital with serious injuries.

"Our thoughts are with them and their families as they receive the urgent treatment that they need.
