Two men in hospital following reports of stabbing in south Manchester

Two men are in hospital following reports of a stabbing in south Manchester.

Police shut Wilmslow Road - at the junction of Walmer Street - in Rusholme at around 4.30pm.

Buses were diverted as cops and paramedics attended.

Greater Manchester Police said two men were taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A staff member at a nearby restaurant said they saw somebody being tended to by paramedics.

Another witness said there were 'around 10 police cars and two ambulances'.

The incident happened on the junction of Walmer Street (MEN)

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Police said "We were called shortly before 4.30pm to a report of a stabbing on Wilmslow Road, Manchester.

"Two men have been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening at this time.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries at the scene are ongoing."
