Two men are in hospital after two separate assaults in the city centre last night with one man believed to be in a critical condition.
A 19-year-old man was taken to CUH with serious injuries after being assaulted on Grand Parade just after midnight last night.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the incident and investigations are ongoing, reports Cork Beo.
It is also being reported that a man in his 40s is in a critical condition in CUH after he was assaulted in the French Church Street/Patrick Street area in the early hours of this morning.
Gardai have now sealed off this area for a full technical examination and are also reviewing CCTV footage.
