Two men in hospital after 'corrosive substance' thrown in Glasgow attack

Two men were rushed to hospital after a 'corrosive substance' was thrown in an attack in Glasgow.

Police were called to a disturbance involving a group of people outside Glasgow Central station on Sunday night.

A section of Gordon Street outside the Blue Lagoon chip shop was cordoned off at about 11.40pm following the incident.

It is understood that the two men were injured after a corrosive substance was thrown and both were rushed to hospital.

Police Scotland are investigating the incident.

A spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance involving a group of people on Gordon Street in Glasgow around 11.40pm on Sunday, 29 August.

“Two men were taken to hospital for treatment following the incident and enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting 4659 of 29 August.”
