Two men in 20s killed in horrific crash as police search for pair who left scene

Two men in their 20s were killed in a horrific two-car crash on Saturday evening.

Police said a blue Volkswagen Golf and blue Volkswagen Sharan were involved in the incident at around 8.45pm on Guildford Road, Chertsey, Surrey.

The driver and the passenger in the Golf, both in their 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Sharan was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Police want any drivers with possible dashcam footage or witnesses to come forward.

They particularly want to trace a man and woman seen getting out of a white car immediately after the crash before leaving without speaking to police.

The crash happened on a road running through the middle of the Surrey town, at a time when many people would still have been out and about.

The road remained closed into the early hours while emergency services, including fire and ambulance crews, deal with the incident.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, particularly anyone with dashcam footage, or who may have any other information, to come forward as soon as possible.

"We would particularly like to speak to a man and a woman in a small white vehicle who stopped immediately after the collision took place but left before we could speak to them.
