Two men hospitalised after fight breaks out in pub in Co Tipperary

Two men have been hospitalised after an alleged assault in Co Tipperary.

The incident happened at what is believed to be a family function on Sunday evening in New Inn.

Gardai were called to the scene around 11pm last night and two men were taken to hospital.

One man in his 30s received serious head injuries and was brought to Cork University Hospital while another man is in South Tipperary General Hospital with less serious injuries.

Man, 50s, arrested in connection with eviction in Strokestown, Co Roscommon 

A Garda spokesman said: "Gardai are investigating an alleged assault that occurred on Sunday the 24th of March 2019 at approx. 11pm in the New Inn area of Tipperary.

"A male (30s) received head injuries and was conveyed to South Tipperary Hospital for treatment.

"No arrests have been made and investigations are on going."
