Two men have died in a "marine incident" in waters off Magnetic Island, near Townsville in north Queensland, police say.
Police were called to Arthur Bay at about 9:30am after the bodies of two men aged 53 and 66 were found in the water near Orchid Rocks.
Other fisherman raised the alarm after spotting the bodies in the water.
An overturned vessel was also located at Magnetic Island.
The men left Townsville at about 3:00am before getting into trouble in waters off the island, police said.
Water police are in the process of recovering the vessel.
There no suspicious circumstances.
Investigations are continuing.
