Two men found dead at house in Paisley named locally as father and son

Two men found dead at a house in Paisley have been named locally as a father and son.

Officers rushed to Lanfine Road in the town's Ralston area at around 7pm last night and discovered the bodies, said to be James and Nicolas Mooney.

The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained with a major investigation launched.

However, it is understood that one line of inquiry being pursued by police is that the deaths could be a murder-suicide.

Police sealed off a section of the street, with officers carrying out their investigation in one the properties in the quiet residential area.

Specialist forensic officers were later seen removing items from the house.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 7pm on Thursday, April 16 , police received a call to attend at Lanfine Road, Paisley.

"Officers attended and discovered two men had died within the property.

"The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. "
