Two men flee after car mounts pavement and crashes into wall near house

Two men ran from the scene after a car crashed into a wall in north Liverpool.

Police were called out to Well Brow Road in Walton at around 11.15am today following reports that a silver Renault Clio had hit a wall.

Two men who were in the Clio ran off after the crash.

Photographs of the scene show the silver Clio mounted on the pavement, in front of a wall which appears to have been completely destroyed.

Bricks were left strewn across the pavement next to an alley gate, which is where the car came to a stop.

There were no reports of injuries and no other vehicles were said to be involved.

The accident happened in a residential area.

A police spokesman said to the ECHO "We are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a car was in collision with a wall in Walton on Sunday (7 June 2020).

"It was reported just before 11.15am that the silver Renault Clio car had been in collision with a wall on Welbrow Road.

"Two males were reportedly seen to leave the car and run from the scene.

"Officers attended and the car has been recovered.

"Witnesses have been spoken to and enquiries are ongoing."
