Two men due in court charged with aggravated burglary

Two men have appeared in court charged with aggravated burglary.

On Sunday August 14 police responded to reports of two men armed with a knife and a hammer entering a property in the Kew area of Southport. Shortly after police officers from the Local Policing Team arrested two men aged 43 and 25 at an address on Milton Street and a search was carried out.

A vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was also seized.

A post on the Sefton police Facebook page said: "Following a 999 call reporting a burglary where two men armed with a knife and hammer entered a property in the Kew area of Southport, on Sunday the 14th August, police officers from the Local Policing Team at Southport Police Station responded.

"Two men aged 43 and 25 were arrested at an address on Milton Street shortly after, and a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was seized. The property at Milton Street was held as a crime scene until it could be searched.

"Both men have since been charged with aggravated burglary and were kept in custody for a court appearance today."
