Two men have died after separate assaults in Melbourne in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A teenager died after an assault on Elizabeth Street in Coburg North just before 2:30am.

Police said he was attacked with an edged weapon.

He was treated by emergency services, but died at the scene.

In a separate incident, two men in their 20s suffered stab wounds in a brawl on Bourke Street, in Docklands, about 3:20am.

They were both taken to hospital but one man died a short time later. The other is in a stable condition.

Acting Superintendent Troy Papworth said on Sunday that homicide detectives were investigating both the Coburg North and Docklands incidents.

Earlier in the night, a 15-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries in a fight at Flinders Street Station, in Melbourne's CBD, about 1:10am.

Three teenagers from Werribee have been charged with intentionally causing reckless injury.

Superintendent Papworth said Victoria Police would have specialist resources such as the mounted branch out in the CBD this weekend as crowds gathered for the Moomba festival.

"We will have a strong, visible and dedicated police presence within the CBD and the Moomba event across the entirety of the weekend," he said.

On Saturday, a ride-share driver from Pakistan was stabbed in Fitzroy just before 3:40am.

Victoria Police believe the man was stabbed by two passengers, who stole his car before abandoning it up the road.

The man was in hospital with serious injuries, but the Pakistan consulate general in Melbourne said his condition was stable.

Any witnesses, anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage, or anyone with information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
