Two men charged with aggravated robbery in Adelaide during early hours of Boxing Day

Police found a man unconscious on Produce Lane.

Two men have been arrested and charged over an alleged robbery that left another man unconscious in the Adelaide CBD early on Saturday, police say.

SA Police (SAPOL) officers were called to Hindley Street just after 3:30am after a man was found unconscious on Produce Lane.

SAPOL said CCTV showed the man being approached by two other men, one of whom punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.

The victim, a 53-year-old man from the Fleurieu Peninsula, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigations led police to a nearby restaurant where the pair — a 36-year-old from Bordertown and a 32-year-old from Christie Downs — were arrested.

They have been charged with aggravated robbery and refused bail.

They are expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Saturday via video link.
