Detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began an investigation in May following reports the 14-year-old girl had been sexually touched by two men who were not known to her at a public toilet near Victoria Parade, Nelson Bay, in February 2019, police said.
A man, 31, was arrested at Port Macquarie on September 17 and charged with three counts of intentionally sexually touching a child between 10 and 16 years of age.
A second man, a 36-year-old from Salt Ash, was arrested by officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District about 3pm on Monday, police said.
He was charged with three counts of intentionally sexually touch child between 10 and 16 years and was refused bail. He will face Maitland Local Court on Tuesday.
The younger man was previously granted strict conditional bail and is due to face court in Port Macquarie again on November 21, police said.
