Two young men have been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at a restaurant in Co Westmeath.
A pair of knife-wielding thugs entered the premises in Castlepollard shortly before 11am on Tuesday, July 14.
They failed to steal cash or property and fled on foot after threatening a staff member.
Gardai arrested two men, aged in their 20s, in relation to the incident a short time later.
The two suspects are due to appear before Mullingar District Court on Thursday morning.
A garda spokeswoman said they were detained at Mullingar Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
