Two men charged after man was attacked and robbed in car park

Two men have been charged after a man was attacked and robbed in a car park in Oldham.

Hussain Akhtar, 31, of Mallow Close, Oldham, has been charged with robbery, dangerous driving, racially aggravated assault and common assault.

Rubel Amin, 27, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery.

Police were called to the car park of Gateway Retail Park in Chadderton, at around 5.10pm on Monday 6 April to reports a man had been assaulted.

The man was confronted in the car park by two men who demanded the keys to his car.

They assaulted him, before stealing a bag from inside his car.

Police arrived and pursued the two men in a vehicle for a short distance.

Both men were arrested and taken into custody, where they have been remanded.

They are both due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 6 May, 2020.
