Two men caused a huge emergency response after jumping into a canal during a police chase today.
Police were called at 12.36pm on Wednesday, August 18 after a BMW, that was stolen from a home in Wirral, was seen travelling on the M53.
After carrying out a search, the car was found abandoned in the Indigo Road area of Ellesmere Port.

Two men were then seen leaving the car and running away from police towards the Boat Museum before jumping into the Manchester Ship Canal.
Officers used a nearby boat to detained and arrest two men, aged 28 and 25, on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle on Stanney Island.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue and the North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance.
