Two men have been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man in Westminster on Friday.
Police were called at 10.17pm on Friday, March 27, to reports of a stabbing on Abbey Orchard Street.
The fatal stabbing happened just a few minutes’ walk from Westminster Abbey and St James’s Park.
Officers arrived within minutes and found a man suffering from stab wounds. Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, the victim was later pronounced dead in hospital.
He has since been named as 26-year-old Farmanullah Sherzad.

The Met Police announced it has arrested two men - aged 18 and 21- on suspicion of murder. Both men have been taken into custody, where they remain at this time.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley, who is leading the investigation, said: "These arrests mark significant progress in what continues to be a fast‑moving and complex investigation.
"To provide reassurance, officers will be carrying out extra patrols in the area over the coming days and will be available to speak with anyone who has concerns."
A post-mortem examination confirmed that his death was caused by multiple sharp force trauma injuries.
Farmanullah’s family have been made aware of this update, and officers continue to support them.
