Two men arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences in east London

Two men in east London have been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences.

A 27-year-old man was detained by Met Police Terrorism Command officers on Tuesday on suspicion of being involved in the "commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism".

He remained in custody on Tuesday evening.

A 21-year-old man was also arrested at a separate east London property on suspicion of encouraging terrorism and the "dissemination of terrorist publications".

He also remained in custody.

The Met said "enquiries continue" with officers searching two homes in the area, as well as a third commercial premises, in connection with the arrest.
