Officers will be carrying out checks on licensed vehicles and educating drivers on how to spot the signs of criminality and exploitation.
They're also looking to clamp down on those who use taxis to transport drugs and criminals across the area.
Yesterday saw police deployed in South Sefton where they dealt with a number of licensed vehicles. The officers involved arrested two males for two separate offences.
A 23-year-old from Formby was arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after cannabis and a large sum of cash were found.
A 35-year-old from Bootle was also arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
Four taxi defect notices were also issued to drivers in the area with educational leaflets and stickers placed in cabs with the aim of educating passengers whilst in the vehicles.
