Two men arrested in connection with unexplained death of young man in Killarney, Co Kerry

Gardai arrested two men this morning in connection with the unexplained death of a young man in Kerry in August.

North Cork man Darragh Sheehan, 26, was found dead outside a Killarney hotel on Saturday, August 29.

Officers treated the death as "unexplained" and this morning made two arrests in connection with the incident.

A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí have arrested two men this morning, Wednesday 9th December 2020, as part of an investigation into the unexplained death of a man in his 20s that occurred on Saturday 29th August 2020, outside a premises on the Muckross Road in Killarney, Co. Kerry.

"Both males (aged in their 20s and 40s) are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Killarney Garda station. Two men arrested yesterday, Tuesday 8th December 2020, as part of this investigation have been released without charge.

"A file is now being prepared for the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions."
