Two men arrested in connection with shooting at Killeek Lane, Co Dublin

Two men have been arrested in connection with a double shooting in Dublin.

The pair were brought to Beaumount and Connolly Memorial Hospitals after being seriously injured after being blasted shortly before 12pm today.

One man was shot up to five times, and remains in a critical condition. While the second victim man was hit in the back.

The incident happened at Killeek Lane, near Dublin Airport.

Gardai have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information on a black Citreon car to come forward.

Speaking on Friday evening, a spokesman said: "Investigating Gardaí are appealing for assistance from members of the public who may have seen a Black Citroen C4 car, registration 151D34526 between 11.30am when it left the vicinity of Killeek Lane and 12.30pm when it was abandoned and set on fire at Greenwood Avenue, Coolock, Dublin 13.

"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for any road users with video recording:

• in the vicinity of Killeek lane, Swords Co. Dublin this morning 17th January 2020 between 11.15am and 11.45am or

• in the vicinity of Greenwood Avenue, Blunden Drive, Malahide Road area of Dublin 13 between 12.15pm and 12.40pm today 17th January 2020.

"Investigating Gardaí can be contacted at Swords Garda Station 01-6664700, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."

Gardai have set up an incident room at Sword Garda Station as the two suspects remain in custody in stations in north of Dublin city.

A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 11.30am on Friday 17th January 2020 at Killeek Lane, St Margaret's, Swords, County Dublin.

"Two males sitting in a parked vehicle at an industrial premises were approached by a lone gunman who discharged a number of shots into the vehicle.

"The gunman fled the scene in a vehicle driven by another male."
