Two men arrested by gardai investigating a series of aggravated burglaries and robberies in Drogheda, Co Louth

Two men have been arrested as part of an investigation into a series of aggravated burglaries and robberies in the Drogheda area.

Gardai revealed the two men, aged 22 and 18, were arrested in the town yesterday and are currently detained at Drogheda garda station.

The 22-year-old will appear before Drogheda District Court at 10.30am today charged in relation to this investigation.

The second man, 18, remains in custody under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1939.

A garda spokeswoman confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
