Two men arrested and two vehicles seized after eight burglaries in Limerick and Tipperary

Two men have been arrested and two vehicles have been seized in Co Galway following a spate of burglaries in Limerick and Tipperary.

Raiders struck businesses in the early hours of the  morning on Wednesday, January 15.  

Detectives from Henry Street Garda Station called in the Western Region's Armed Support Unit and Gardaí from Tipperary, Limerick and Galway also helped in the manhunt. 

The men, who are their 20s, were arrested in Co Galway after Gardai searched three houses.

They were brought to Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda stations where they are still being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

Two vehicles were also seized for technical examination.

A garda spokesperson said: "Three houses were searched this morning, January 18, in Co. Galway and two men in their 20s were arrested.

"They were brought to Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda stations where they are currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.

During the search operation, two vehicles were also seized for technical examination.
