Gardai swarmed a quiet South Dublin town launching a number of late-night raids after arresting two men and seizing nearly €30,000 worth of cocaine and cannabis.
The operations took place on Wednesday evening in the little village of Loughlinstown.
Locals told Dublin Live that a new store that's recently opened in the area and a number of houses were targeted after the arrest of the two men earlier in the day.
The pair, one in his late teens, the other in his 20s, were searched by Gardai and cocaine and cannabis worth €28,000 was uncovered.
A number of luxury clothing items, including expensive coats and runners, were also seized.
They were taken to Dun Laoghaire Garda Station, but have since been released.
Gardai told Dublin Live: "Gardaí arrested two men and seized approximately €28,000 worth of drugs during a search operation in Loughlinstown yesterday, 24th February 2021.
"While on patrol in the area, Gardaí searched two males aged in their late teens and early 20s.
"Quantities of suspected cannabis herb and cocaine were seized during the search with an estimated street value of approximately €28,000.
"Both men were arrested and taken to Dun Laoghaire Garda Station. Both men have since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.
"A number of follow-up searches were conducted in relation to this seizure."
