Two men arrested after reports of a fight in Sneinton

Two men have been arrested after reports of a fight in Sneinton.

Nottinghamshire Police officers were called to Granby Villas shortly before 4.10pm today (August 2).

A 33-year-old man, who suffered an injury to his hand, was found nearby and arrested on suspicion of affray.

A 31-year-old man, who was seen leaving the scene in a van, suffered a head injury requiring hospital treatment. His injuries are not currently thought to be life-threatening. He was located and also arrested on suspicion of affray.

Both men remain in custody. An area between Sneinton Hollows and Sneinton Dale was taped off while officers continued with their enquiries, including checking CCTV.

Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are still in the early stages of investigating the circumstances of this incident which resulted in both men suffering nasty injuries requiring hospital treatment, we take all incidents of violence very seriously and positive police action was taken at the scene to reassure the public.

"We're appealing for anyone who witnessed the fight or anyone who may have captured CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 543 of 2 August 2020, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
