Two men arrested after man slashed in the face in Chapeltown

Two men have been arrested after a man was slashed in the face in Leeds.

The suspects were arrested in connection with the incident which happened in Chapeltown in the early hours of this morning (Sunday).

West Yorkshire Police cordoned off part of Back Newton Grove and Chapeltown Road after a 45-year-old man was left with slash wounds to his face.

There were splatters of blood on both Back Newton Grove and Chapeltown Road.

A local resident said a man who lives behind in the taped-off area held a street party last night that went on past midnight.

The man attended St James's University Hospital at 3.45am.

The road was still taped off this afternoon as forensic officers carried out investigations on the road and in the property.

The man's injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and he has since been transferred to Leeds General Infirmary.
