Two men are set to appear in court following a serious assault on New Year's Day in Dublin.
The victims were two other men aged in their 20s who were taken to hospital after they were attacked on Anne's Lane in Dublin 2 on the night of January 1. They were treated for their injuries at St James's Hospital.
During a follow-up search, gardai stopped and arrested two men, in their early 20. They were taken to Pearse Street Garda station where they were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

A garda spokeswoman said: "Both men have since been charged in relation to the assault and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Court Number 3 this morning Monday 2nd January, 2022 at 10.30a.m. Investigations ongoing."
