Two men arrested after cops find £135k heroin in Shetland

Two men are due to appear in court following a £135,000 heroin discovery in Shetland.

Officers approached a van in the Sandveien area of Lerwick around 12:45pm on Monday 24 May.

Heroin worth a six-figure street value was seized nearby.

The two men, aged 46 and 47, have been arrested and charged and will appear at Lerwick Sheriff Court in connection to the recovery.

Detective Sergeant Bruce Peebles of Lerwick CID said: “This was a significant recovery of Class A drugs, especially for Shetland.

“I want to assure people that we are committed to tackling the sale and supply of drugs in our communities.”
