Two men arrested after 'chemical cocaine lab' found in garden shed

Two men have been arrested after a suspected drugs lab and blocks of cocaine were discovered in a garden shed.

Police raided an address on Ormskirk Road, Rainford yesterday afternoon around 3pm.

Inside the garden shed they located a suspected drugs laboratory comprising blocks what they believe to be cocaine.

Other equipment including a suspected drugs press and chemicals was also seized.

The scene was made safe by specialist officers and further searches will take place this morning.

Following the discovery, a 42-year-old man from Rainford and a 28-year-old man from Waltham Abbey, Essex were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

They have been taken into custody for questioning by detectives.

Detective Inspector Jackie Guinness said: “It is pleasing to see this potentially hazardous location made safe and the suspected drugs removed from circulation, and a full investigation is now underway.

"What was found yesterday has the potential to not only spread untold misery across our communities, but cause serious health risks to those living nearby.
