Two men and woman assaulted by gang at DART station just hours after Bray chaos

Two men and a woman were the victims of an assault at a south Dublin DART station just hours after chaotic scenes in Bray saw passengers force their way off the train and onto the tracks.

Footage seen by Dublin Live shows a group clashing on the platform at Killiney DART station just after 10pm last night.

Blood can be seen on the ground of the platform and inside the carriage after officers arrived to break up the fight.

Two men, aged in their 30s and a woman in her 50s, were treated for injuries by paramedics at the scene.

A garda spokesperson said no arrests have been made, and investigations remain ongoing.

The incident came as swathes of people were making their way home from the Bray Air Show - and just hours after the scary tram chaos that saw passengers force their way out of packed, overheating carriages in stationary DARTs.

One Irish soldier told of how he broke open the door of a tram "to protect the lives of our citizens".

There were major delays to DART services yesterday as passengers disembarked from a DART which was stalled near Bray station at 2.55pm following reports of very hot conditions on board.

The soldier, who wishes to remain anonymous, spoke to Dublin Live about the situation on board the train.

He said if he "didn't act, people would have been seriously injured".

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating the assault of two males in their 30s and a female in her 50s that occurred at Kiliney Dart Station at approximately 10:10pm last night, Sunday 24 July 2022. No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing."
