Two men and one woman charged over €900,000 drug seizure in Co Louth

Three people arrested in connection with a €900,000 drug seizure in Co Louth have been charged.

Cocaine and cannabis worth more than €900,000 was found after two vehicles were stopped at the N33 Drumgoolestown near Ardee on Sunday, December 15.

And now gardai have confirmed the two men and one woman arrested at the scene are set to appear in court this morning in connection with the incident.

The seizure was made as part of ongoing intelligence led investigations associated with the Joint Agency Task Force (JATF) targeting suspected drug traffickers in the area.

During the operation, officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) intercepted the vehicles around 1am while travelling in the vicinity of Ardee.

The drugs were seized along with an animal transporter truck and a high powered car.

A garda spokeswoman said: "The two men and one woman are due to appear before Drogheda District Court this morning Tuesday 17th December, 2019 at 10.30a.m."
