Two men and a woman seriously injured after crash on Cardiff's A4232 closes road for five hours

Three people have been seriously injured in a crash on the A4232 in Cardiff.

Police say two men from the Ely area, aged 31 and 34, and a 26-year-old woman from the Llandough area are in hospital after the crash on Tuesday night (June 23) at around 8.55pm.

A silver Saab 93 was the only vehicle involved in the crash which happened between Leckwith and Culverhouse Cross.

Witnesses said the car had ended up on its roof on the carriageway.

The road was closed for around five hours while police carried out initial investigations.

A statement from South Wales Police said: "Members of the public who had their journeys delayed are thanked for their patience."

Traffic officers are now appealing for witnesses and said all three were "taken to the University Hospital of Wales where they are being treated for their injuries."

Police are urging any potential witnesses, or anyone who was in the area at the time with dash-cam footage, and haven’t provided their details to officers, to make contact with South Wales police by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 2000222058.
