Two members of staff at a Co Armagh hospital have tested positive for Covid-19.
The Southern Health and Social Care Trust has confirmed that members of staff who were working in the Respiratory Emergency Department of Craigavon Area Hospital have contracted the virus.
The trust believes at this stage that the staff members got the infection in a social setting and not within the department.
As a precaution, members of staff who were working in close contact with those that have the virus, have now been tested and are isolating at home.
The emergency department remains open, however is extremely busy and the public is being advised to only attend if there is no other alternative.
A Southern Health and Social Care Trust spokesperson said: "The Southern Trust can confirm that two members of staff who work in the Respiratory Emergency Department (ED) at Craigavon Area Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19.
"As a precaution, any other members of staff who have been in close contact with the confirmed cases are being tested and are currently at home isolating.
"At this stage it is understood that the infection may have transferred in a social setting ie not within the ED.
"Staff in the Emergency Department wear full personal protective equipment when treating patients therefore we do not believe there is any risk to patients at this time.
"The Emergency Department in Craigavon remains open but is extremely busy and we would urge the public only to attend if there is no other alternative."
