Two Man City Premier League fixtures rearranged with potential Champions League impact

The Premier League have announced that Manchester City's matches against Leicester City and Leeds United have been rearranged for TV coverage in April.

Pep Guardiola 's side lead the table by 14 points after a remarkable run of form that has put the title within touching distance.

As City get closer to regaining their crown, Sky and BT Sport have allocated their first two April fixtures for their TV schedules - as every league game continues to be televised while fans are unable to attend.

City 's trip to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester will now be shown live on Sky Sports, with a new kick-off time of 5:30pm on Saturday, April 3.

Their home match the following Saturday against Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds will be shown on BT Sport in their usual lunchtime slot of 12:30pm.

The added complication for City is these two fixtures would come either side of a potential Champions League quarter-final first leg.

The Blues lead Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 in the last-16 after a first-leg victory and can book their place in the last eight of the competition on Tuesday night.

Should they progress, Guardiola will be hoping his side are drawn to play on Tuesday, April 6, instead of Wednesday, April 7, with his team in action again just a few days later in the Saturday early kick-off against Leeds.

Guardiola and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp were critical of the Premier League earlier in the season for allowing the TV schedule to force them to play on a Wednesday night in Europe and then in early Saturday kick-off.

"Trent Alexander-Arnold: international English player, now injured. Here, we believe we are more special," Guardiola said after the two side's 1-1 in November, following on from Klopp's complaints.

"We don't protect the players, so that is why it is a disaster."
