Two Man City fixtures chosen for Premier League TV coverage in the New Year

Manchester City have had January fixture changes confirmed as two matches have been selected for broadcast in the United Kingdom.

City have seen alterations to one home and one away fixture as Chelsea's visit to the Etihad and the Blues' trip to St Mary's has been picked for BT Sports and Sky Sports coverage, respectively.

Chelsea will be looking for revenge against City when they travel to Manchester on January 15, after Pep Guardiola's side put on a tactical masterclass to outwit Thomas Tuchel in the corresponding fixture earlier this season.

Thomas Tuchel's side have dusted themselves down since the 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge, winning every game since. Going into this weekend's clash with Burnley, they occupy top spot with City five points behind.

The Londoners' visit to the North West has been selected for a 12:30pm kick-off and will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

At the end of January, City's trip to Southampton has been chosen for Sky Sports coverage for a 5:30pm kick-off.

Both sides couldn't be separated earlier in the month as Ralph Hasenhuttl's side became the first to take points off the reigning Premier League champions when the two sides met in September.

The meeting at the Etihad wasn't short of controversy as Kyle Walker's red card was overturned shortly after the hour mark after bringing down Adam Armstrong in the penalty area.

Already on New Year's Day, the trip to the Emirates Stadium will be shown on BT Sports in the early kick-off.

City's February list of changes will be announced next month, should there be any. They will make for interesting reading as it will show which matches have been selected for coverage around the Champions League knockout stages, permitting the Blues qualify.

Confirmation of fixture changes:

Saturday 15 January: Manchester City vs Chelsea - 12:30pm kick-off [BT Sports]

Saturday 22 January: Southampton vs Manchester City - 5pm kick-off [Sky Sports]
