Two luxurious cruise ships dock at Ayrshire port

An Ayrshire port welcomed two cruise ship arrivals this week.

Associated British Ports (ABP) Troon, witnessed the arrivals of Noble Caledonia’s MS Island Sky and its sister flagship, MS Hebridean Sky.

The two vessels made return visits this year following successful calls in 2021.

In total, five of Noble Caledonia’s tours are expected to call or turn around at ABP’s picturesque Troon Port this year, including the ‘Island Hopping Expedition’ and the ‘Passage to Iceland.’

Stuart Cresswell, ABP’s Port Manager at Troon, said: “We are delighted to welcome Noble Caledonia’s luxurious vessels and her passengers to our shores.

“It is great to see the leading small ship cruise specialist going from strength to strength and I am thrilled that ABP can support in its offering here in Scotland and add something different to its enticing voyages.”

The Port of Troon, ABP’s most northern port, is more widely known for supporting fishing and agricultural industries but welcoming cruise arrivals is on the rise.

The port is now also focusing on delivering an excellent passenger experience and outstanding customer service.

Mike Deagan, Noble Caledonia head of fleet operations said: “It has been a pleasure to have the Port of Troon hosting these turnaround calls and the 2022 operation has built on the strong ties with the port and its outstanding operations team which were forged during initial calls last year.

“The entire team at Troon possesses a ‘can-do’ attitude – their teams seamlessly, and with genuine desire, provide the best experience of their port. Blended with our first-class service.

“I am sure our guests would wish to return for a longer period to experience the stunning Ayrshire scenery.”
