A crash between two lorries and a horse cart has caused traffic chaos on one of Scotland's most treacherous roads.
Police have sealed off part of the A9 following the crash on Tuesday.
The alarm was raised at around 2.40pm after reports of a collision on the northbound carriageway, just after the offslip for Fortteviot.
Police remain on the scene and did not disclose if any persons or animals have been injured .
It is not known how long the road will be closed for.
Police confirmed their attendance at the scene at around 4.30pm.
A statement read: "Emergency services are currently in attendance following a two vehicle crash on the A9 south of Perth.
"The road is closed.
"Please avoid the area if possible."
Officers later confirmed that two lorries and a horse cart were involved.
A spokesman from the force told the Record: “At around 2.40pm on Tuesday, August 24 we received a report of a two vehicle crash on the A9 south of Perth involving a two lorries and horse cart.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed”
