Two Liverpool restaurants named most popular in UK for roast dinner

Two Liverpool venues have been named among the best places to have a roast dinner in the UK.

The city is home to many brilliant bars and restaurants to everything from a good pint or a fabulous cocktail to extravagant gourmet meals. Whether you're looking to just relax with friends or are feeling fancy, Liverpool's restaurants have you covered.

A new study by Betway has found the best places serving up the classic Sunday roast around the country. The research measured venues’ popularity using the number of hashtags each location has racked up on Instagram, as well Google and TripAdvisor reviews, with restaurants from Liverpool, Manchester, London and Birmingham among the top twelve across the UK.

Hanover Street Social in Liverpool city centre came in at number three, following Hawksmoor restaurants in Manchester and London at one and two respectively. The restaurant features exposed brickwork, low lighting and tealight candles, alongside an open kitchen, expansive bar and red leather seating booths.

Another Liverpool restaurant, Albert’s Schenke, also on Hanover Street, came in at number 11, drawing with Cardiff restaurant Tiny Rebel. Albert’s Schenke opened in July 2019, replacing The Hub and has more than 20 beers on tap including special editions, small batches and key kegs which change daily, along with gin, cocktails, prosecco and artisan schnapps.
