Two Liverpool restaurants have been named among the best vegan takeaways in the UK.
StagWeb has named its top 45 vegan takeaways for 2020 and restaurants from across the country have been included in the extensive list, which is based on factors such as service, menu, food and ethical practices.
Liverpool favourites Down The Hatch and Frost Burgers were both named in the list.
Down The Hatch, on Duke Street, serves everything from burgers and fries to hot dogs, halloumi fingers and jackfruit nuggets.
According to StagWeb the ‘best bite’ at Down The Hatch is the McLovin, which features a soy mince patty, cheese, scrambled tofu, hashbrown, pickles and a drizzle of ketchup.
StagWeb added: “The lights are low but the quality’s high in this basement junk food treasure-trove.
“And forget about pretentious portion sizes, plates are piled high here so you can feel satisfied in both mind and soul that you’ve snagged the tastiest deal in the North West.”
Frost Burgers, which opened on Wood Street in 2018, offers a simple menu of burgers and fries, including the Cheezeburger, the Double Trouble and the Chicken Free.
According to StagWeb the ‘best bite’ at Frost Burgers is the G Mayo Chicken Burger, which includes a chicken fillet, cheese, garlic mayo and lettuce.
