Two Liverpool restaurants have been named among the UK’s top vegan places to eat .
GoHen released its annual rundown of UK Top 50 Vegan restaurants, having chosen venues based on their food, service, ethical practice and experience in general.
Liverpool eateries The Caledonia and Indigo Greens were among those named.
The Caledonia, based on Caledonia Street, went completely vegan in 2017 with a menu featuring vegan versions of burgers, hot dogs and 'chimken' wings.
On The Caledonia, GoHen said: “It’s a dream pub! Live bands, mini food festivals, a community book share scheme and vegan junk food.
“Yes, they could go all gastro-pub but meh… why? When food is this good it shouldn’t be messed with.
“Burgers, wings, dogs, sides, desserts all 100% plant-based and packed with flavour, served in a friendly, funky setting.”
Indigo Greens, which is based on Queens Drive and is one of the six kitchens at Duke Street Market, has a fully plant-based menu featuring dishes such as the Rainbow Roast and Vish N Chips.
On Indigo Greens, GoHen said: “Why go out to eat when your dinner can come to you? Indigo Greens set up Liverpool ’s first-ever vegan meal prep delivery service.
“But if you are going out then get yourself along to their amazing diner. We suggest making it a weekend, their Sunday Roast is an absolute belter.
“They also run workshops on vegan cookery. So many reasons to love them.”
