Two Lanarkshire roads closing for five days for carriageway resurfacing work

Two Airdrie roads will be shut for five days next week to allow for the completion of carriageway resurfacing work.

Burniebrae Road in Chapelhall, from the A73 Main Street to Roseberry Street, and Davidson Street, between the A8010 Aitchison Street and Mavisbank Street, are the roads affected from Monday, January 10, until Friday, January 14.

Diversions for the former road are the A73 (Main Street and Carlisle Road), Burns Road and Roseberry Road, while Wilson Street, the A8010 Aitchison Street and Mavisbank Street are alternative routes for motorists during the latter closure.

Meanwhile, ironwork repairs will see Coatbridge's Old Monkland Road shut for nearly nine hours next month.

Running from Rowan Place to Dunkeld Place, the closure will be between 9.30am and 6pm on February 20.

Diversions for drivers will include School Street and Kirkshaws Road.
